What is a Tape-in Extension?
Growing in popularity, the tape-in extension method involves a semi-permanent hair extension that is quick and easy to apply and can last from 4-8 weeks.
They are thin hair wefts that are pre-taped using hypoallergenic polyurethane glue that is bonded in between your natural hair like a sandwich.
Tape extensions are amongst the most comfortable and lightest to wear as they do not feel ‘tight’ or heavy when applied. This is the most frequently requested hair extension method used in salons worldwide for those with fine or naturally straighter hair. It can be applied in under an hour without tools.
Silk Lengths’ tape extensions weighs just 2 grams each and can be reused up to 4 times, making them highly economical.
How are tape-in extensions removed?
Tape extensions should be removed row by row. You can use an oil solution or an alcohol based solution to wet the top of the tape and let the product sink inside the bonded area. Use the tip of a tail comb in the corner of the tape to separate and gently peel off top layer.
